RePublic Schools will open its third middle school, the Nashville Academy of Computer Science (NACS), in August of 2014 to a class of 120 founding 5th graders.  When NACS is fully-grown, it will be a grade 5-8 open enrollment public school. We will offer busing to scholars from across Davidson County.

NACS will have the same schedule as Nashville Prep and Liberty Collegiate Academy, which includes two math blocks and three literacy blocks a day.  The schedule will also incorporate computer programming as part of the middle school curriculum.  In grades five and six, scholars will focus on basic coding, problem solving and logic.  By the eighth grade, all scholars will know how to write their own website using HTML/CSS.

The computer programming and coding curriculum will enhance scholars’ critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
