RePublic Schools opened its third middle school, the Nashville Academy of Computer Science (NACS), in August 2014. The school is now home to 5th and 6th grade scholars, and will continue to add a grade level each year until it is a full 5th-8th grade open-enrollment public school. We will offer busing to scholars from across Davidson County.

NACS has the same schedule as Nashville Prep and Liberty Collegiate Academy, which includes two math blocks and three literacy blocks a day. The schedule also incorporates computer programming as part of the middle school curriculum. In grades five and six, scholars focus on basic coding, problem solving and logic. By the eighth grade, all scholars will know how to write their own websites using HTML/CSS.

The computer programming and coding curriculum will enhance scholars’ critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
